MRIN-66 George Hand and Barbara Crose

George Hand and Barbara Crose

My paternal 5th great grandparents

MRIN-66

Please keep in mind that this is research in progress. I am working on gathering as many of the documents, stories and pictures as possible to put together as much of an accurate story about their lives as I can. Don’t take anything as fact until it is verified.

DNA Verification

This is my first branch of our family tree that has been verified with my AncestryDNA test results. Those results broke down a brick wall for me as I was stuck on my 4th great grandmother, Nancy Jane Hand. My test results matched with a 96% confidence to a 4th cousin who is direct descendant Solomon Hand. Thanks to the research of that cousin, I learned the names of George and Barbara, their children and possibly their parents. Once I had that information, sources and verification kind of fell in together.

  1. My great-great grandmother’s brother was A.M. Stringfield who married Amelia Hand. They are both buried in the Stewart Cemetery in McLean County. I have written a book on my gggrandmother, and am in the process of writing one on A.M.
