MRIN-30 John Lambert (3) and Hannah Cassel

John Lambert (3) and Hannah Cassel

My maternal 4th great grandparents

MRIN-30

John Lambert (3)

  • Born: 1789
  • Married: 11 Sep 1822 to Susanna “Hannah” Cassel
  • Died: 1862
  • Buried:
  • Cause of Death:
  • Parents: John Lambert (2) and Nancy

Hannah Cassel

  • also seen as Susanna Cassel on their marriage record
  • Born: 1799
  • Married: 11 Sep 1822 to John Lambert (3)
  • Died: 1859
  • Age: 60
  • Buried:
  • Cause of Death: Dropsy
  • Parents: J. and P. Cassel. The only record that I have been able to find giving the names of Hannah’s parents comes from her death record. Her parents were named as “J & P Cassel”. The informant was her son, Jacob Lambert. Oren Morton was unable to place Hannah with her parents when he researched his book “A history of Pendleton County, West Virginia”. A lot of family trees name her parents as Valentine Cassel and Phoebe Lambert. I’ve not seen any of them tell how they came to that conclusion other than obtaining it from another family tree that had no source listed.

Their Children

  1. Adonijah Creels Lambert Sr. (1823-1895)
  2. Nancy Ann Lambert married Isaiah Murphey in 1846
  3. John C. Lambert (1825-????)
  4. Jacob Lambert (1829-????)
  5. Solomon Lambert (1833-????)- 4 of his sons were killed in a mining accident

Responses

  1. Phoebe Bennett Cassell also married Jacob Spillmann after Valentine Cassle Jr Died. Jacob could be the “J” on the certificate, Maybe the reason they listed Phoebe as a Cassle was to show that she was a widow?

  2. I am Bobby Lambert’s daughter, Fred’s granddaughter, Stelman’s great-granddaughter and Frank’s great great granddaughter….so we are related somehow.
